La Maison de la Maille furnishes the Madison hotel
In the vibrant heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, nestled among art galleries and iconic cafés, lies a jewel of elegance and warmth: the Madison Hotel. A preferred address for discerning travelers for nearly a century, this 4-star boutique hotel has gracefully withstood the test of time, never losing its soul. Here, luxury is never ostentatious—it is subtle, understated, and refined, designed to transform every stay into an unforgettable experience.
It is in this pursuit of excellence that the Madison Hotel turned to La Maison de la Maille and its renowned expertise. Initiated in 2021 by interior designer Paul Salas, who oversaw the renovation of the hotel, this collaboration culminated in February 2023 with the creation of an exclusive collection of custom-made throws and bedspreads, designed to adorn the rooms.
Where Exceptional Craftsmanship Meets Timeless Elegance
For this project, La Maison de la Maille showcased the full extent of its savoir-faire. A co-creation workshop made it possible to harmonize the Madison’s Art Deco-inspired aesthetic with the Maison’s distinguished craftsmanship. A bespoke color was developed in collaboration with our partner spinning mill, and an exclusive tweed knit was created, offering each piece a rich texture and a perfect drape.
Since February 2023, medium and large-sized throws (250 × 140 cm and 250 × 180 cm), meticulously crafted, have enhanced the room décor, adding a soft, refined touch to the carefully prepared beds.
Comfort Felt in Every Detail
It didn’t take long for guests to be won over. From the moment they arrive, these unique pieces captivate the hotel’s regulars—some even choosing to purchase them to prolong the experience of absolute comfort in their own homes.
As Madame Mbengue, the hotel’s Head Housekeeper, explains:
“We even had guests buy two or three throws to take home, because they found them so cozy and comfortable.”
Indeed, the throws contribute to the warm, homelike atmosphere that defines the Madison experience.
“You really feel at home when you come here,” she adds.
Much like the Madison Hotel itself, these throws embody a form of sincere, understated luxury that is increasingly rare.
