Jamaica, Nina, and Altaïr, crias (baby alpacas) from the Alpacas du Clos Tranquille breeding farm.

 > A word from Axelle, breeder of the Alpacas du Clos Tranquille (72):

"They are all three known for the finesse of their black coats.

Jamaïka is solitary, she is the "auntie" to the newborns. She went to live in Spain in 2021.

Nina has a traveler's temperament, since she made a long journey after her birth in Germany. Her nickname is Ninouchka.

Curious and kind, Altair is the first born of his breeding. Born during the storm, he bears the name of a star."

 > Why does this Plaid Merveilleux bring together 3 alpacas?

Young alpacas offer a first shearing of unparalleled quality. It is during this initial step that we harvest the most delicate fibers, often reaching less than 16 microns in fineness, equivalent to the excellence of cashmere.

To produce the yarn, we need to obtain a volume of fibers of at least 1kg.

Therefore, in consultation with the breeders, we have chosen to group batches of 2 to 3 fleeces of young alpacas, whose fineness and color are absolutely identical.

 > Weight of the original fleece: 1.83 kg (sorted fibers)

 > Estimated size: approximately 138 x 139 cm (+/- 10%)

As each blanket is made to order, we are able to give you an estimate of the size of the final piece, calculated from the weight of wool available after shearing.

 > Manufacturing: Plaid entirely produced in western France, between Clermont-Créans, Plouguernével, Laval, and La Flèche, within a radius of less than 300 km.

Despite all the care taken during the various stages of production, some pieces may have differences.

> Knit: Knit Merveilleuse, double-sided, openwork
In a classic retro style, dear to our house, our knit has been developed exclusively to enhance the fibers of our exceptional alpaca wool. If you would like to see the effect of the Knit Merveilleuse, we invite you to discover the behind-the-scenes of the production of our prototype here.

 > Personalization: Each unique piece is embroidered with champagne gold thread with the name of the animal from which it originates.

    > Cleaning advice: We advise you to wash your blanket in cold water. You can wash the fibers in hot water as long as you rinse them well in hot water as well. Feel free to use a natural soap.

    > Drying: Alpaca fiber is very stretchy. To ensure the proper shape of the knit and prevent deformation, we highly recommend flat drying in the open air.
